The Nightly Manor (watched 10/28/25)
This object show made me cry.
Basic premise is that 7 objects are invited to a
manor for a fancy dinner, and it quickly turns
into a murder mystery for the first half.
So with that premise, I figured it was perfect
to watch so close to Halloween. But.. little did I know.
The second half dives into the relationships between
the objects who were killed, and those left behind.
And it is a beautiful exploration of grief.
I watched this show on the day my brother had left
home to live on his own, which was horrible timing
for me emotionally. However, probably perfect
timing for the story to hit me hard.
A month later (12/1/25 as of writing) and
some characters still hurt my heart.
It's not a very long show, and it's available
for free on youtube! I highly reccomend it
even for people who aren't into object shows.
I think there's still an epilogue in the works as well!
Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger Ep: 9/51
First season of Power Ranger I've watched in years!
I watched it with Blu and we were keen
on pointing out any p5 parallels.
The phantom thief team oozes style and fun!
The thieves' outfits, transformation sequence,
and backstory are unfortunately much more
interesting than their officer counterparts.
Which isn't great considering the gimmick this
season is that there are two teams, and their
rivalry.
Also, after watching Kamen Rider, I think the flashiness
(and speed) of the fights are a little much at times.
I feel like I'm getting cocomeloned. I gotta watch
paint dry to reset my attention span after.
But hey! We only watched 9 episodes!
Maybe it's just growing pains!
Kamen Rider Zeztz Ep: 12/51
Another Tokusatsu Blu and I are watching!
This is the first Kamen Kider season I'm catching
live! It's the second (technically 4th?) season I've
watched. Blu and I finished Fourze (loved it), started Ryuki,
and while Blu watched all of W, I have only watched a
handful of episodes.
Zeztz is a season that's conceptually right up my alley.
I've always had a fascination with dreams, and the dream
logic stuff they do this season is really fun!
I also love how they dress Nem in particular, she's so cute!
That being said I think I miss the characters of Fourze a lot
So far - while showing promising - the characters feel less
lively in comparison.
But honestly, it's just fun to have something to watch every
week with a friend!
Also funnily enough, just as both of us were lamenting about
how we missed Fourze, the 12th episode is based around space
It's like they heard us...
Inanimate Insanity Season 4 ep 4
AAHHHH WHO WAS GONNA TELL ME OBJECT SHOWS ARE GOOD
My friend invited me to watch Inanimate Insanity
with her for nostalgias sake on her end. I had
never watched it. And I tried to avoid II content. I just
thought it would be... bad.
Please forgive me for being so wrong because I
LOVED IT!!
I should have expected this, considering my fondness
for amateur web cartoons, but MANNN. II is just, good.
You don't need to have an appreciation for scuff to enjoy
the show from Season 2 onwards (tho even season 2 has a bit of
a slow start).
Actually as I started typing out this section, I realized I
have a LOT to say about II. More than I should type out here
LOL. I'll just say this: This show (and The Nightly Manor) has
made me draw SO MANY OBJECTS WITH FACES.
I love these silly objects.
Rewind, Replay from The Nightly Manor⊳
This song was how I found the show actually.
After watching a lot of II, of course I went
scrounging for content. So a lot of object
shows ended up on my tiktok fyp. And I found
a video with this song playing in the bg
captioned something like "We should appreciate
the music in object shows more". And well, this
song immeaditely hooked me in.
Tho after watching the show, and hearing it in
context, now listening to it makes me feel so
melancholic.
But that is part of why I love it so much.
It represents the bittersweetness of old memories
and how easy it is to get caught up in them.
Wishing you could go back, wishing that the
time you spent with certain people never ended.
and it captures all of that so well despite how
short it is is.
It's a song that now means a lot to me.
